This putrid assemblage of talent kicked the year off by going 2-39. They then came on, sorta, by ending the year on an 11-30 run for a 13-69 record. In the end, it kinda paid off — the Mavericks’ totally butt play earned them the second overall pick in the ensuing draft, landing Jason Kidd.
