Maybe Patchface was just too creepy for TV. A literally mad literal fool, Patchface was the sole survivor of a shipwreck, and spends his time babbling incoherently about beasts “down below.” He is under the employ of House Baratheon, which goes some way to explaining why Stannis Baratheon is so humorless.
