The Best ‘Game of Thrones’ Characters and Storylines That Were Cut for TV

A Lot More Dorne

HBO

A lot of Dornish chapters from the books get skimmed over in the TV show. In “Game of Thrones,” Jaime Lannister travels to Dorne for plot reasons, primarily so that the show can have a familiar character participate in the action in this region of the world. In the books, we’re introduced to a host of new point-of-view characters in Dorne, but it’s debatable whether they actually add much to the story, and some fans accuse Martin of spinning his wheels in these meandering sections. It’s easy to see why the show skipped these plot points, but without some of the context they provide, the Dorne episodes of “Thrones” ended up proving very unpopular.
