<p>Although in the 1960s Varosha was a glamorous getaway resort for Hollywood stars, in 1974 it was invaded by Turkish forces and residents and tourists alike were forced to leave in a hurry. Turkey retains control to this day and so the town exists as an empty forbidden city. This perfect relic of the 1970s must be a treasure trove of nostalgia.</p>
