In the 1960s, an Italian businessman named Mario Bagno straight up bought the small village of Consonno, a short distance outside of Milan. He built a luxurious, Vegaseque, Roman bacchanalia of a resort, with eventual plans for a zoo and a dedicated airfield. But in 1976 a landslide completely washed away the only road to Consonno, and Bagno’s dreams were left to crumble into grand disrepair.
