Perhaps the most gracefully timed catch to erase a home run ever, Matthews needed every last bit of extension to make this grab against the Astros on July 1, 2006, securing the ball at the peak of his jump. The catch was so impressive, even his victim, Mike Lamb, had to applaud the center fielder’s effort.
