Griffey’s career was frustratingly hampered by injuries — and it probably didn’t help that he had a habit of flying into walls at full speed. He did just that on May 26, 1995, to rob Ruben Sierra of extra bases while protecting a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh inning. He wouldn’t play for almost three months.
