Kevin Mitchell needs no glove
Very early in his 1989 NL MVP campaign, Mitchell got on his horse to erase Ozzie Smith in foul territory. But the journey was so long, he lost track of the ball, only to recover by reaching out with his bare hand to snag it at the last moment. Not bad for a guy who’d also lead the majors in homers and RBI.
