Sapolu wasn’t selected by the San Francisco 49ers until the 11th round of the 1983 NFL Draft, 289th overall. The center and left guard won Super Bowl rings protecting Joe Montana in 1984, 1988, and 1989, then claimed a fourth in 1994 in front of Steve Young. The Hawaii alum from Apia, Samoa, made Pro Bowl teams in 1993 and 1994.
